Bank of America is set to expand its presence in the greater New Orleans area by establishing eight new financial centers beginning in the second half of 2027. The bank has confirmed that construction is already underway at two locations: 4350 General De Gaulle Drive in New Orleans and 830 N. Highway 190 in Covington.

This expansion represents a significant real estate investment in the region, aimed at enhancing the bank’s physical footprint. It will also generate multiple opportunities for local landlords, brokers, and contractors, as Bank of America plans to hire approximately 60 employees to support these new centers.

Jonathan Matessino, President of Bank of America New Orleans/Baton Rouge, is leading this initiative which highlights the bank’s strategic growth in a region where it already boasts a network of roughly 3,500 financial centers nationwide.

The new branches will likely impact street-level retail and office demand, possibly reactivating or anchoring commercial corridors. This move is not only about expanding services but also about contributing to local economic activity through hiring and increased commercial transactions.

Details about the remaining six locations and further construction plans are expected to be announced as they are finalized. The bank’s decision to enhance its branch network comes amidst a broader context of significant real estate activity in New Orleans, reflecting growing opportunities in the region.
