Developers broke ground last week on the five-story, $55 million apartment complex “The Metro at Clearview.” It’s part of the $250,000,000 redevelopment of the Clearview Mall that also includes a new $100 million Ochsner Super Clinic.

The Metro will have 270 apartment units that cost between $1,500 and $3,000 per month. Atlanta-based Audubon is the developer, which owns other apartment complexes in New Orleans including the American Can apartments in Mid-City.

The community also will feature two courtyards, a resort-style pool and cabanas, a yoga lawn, lounge area, grilling stations, sitting area and a Zen garden. Other amenities include a 2,000-square-foot clubroom with multiple seating and entertainment areas, a catering kitchen, a fully furnished fitness center and a sky lounge on the fifth floor that will overlook Clearview City Center.

The entire project is part of the $250 Million redevelopment of the Clearview Mall by the Richards family, which has owned the mall for 50 years.
