On Wednesday (July 5), the French Market Corp.’s board awarded a $2.95 million contract to improve the Moonwalk, the levee and riverfront area in front of the French Quarter.

Dynamic Constructors won the deal, and construction is set to begin this month.  The project includes adding trees for shade, a large staircase that leads down to water for pedestrian access, new walking surfaces, enhanced lighting and other safety measures.

The City has been busy lately, lining up new initiatives for the riverfront, including the mega-deal land swap with the Port.
