CommCare has completed the $30 million John A. Stassi II Community Care Center in Metairie, marking a significant investment in healthcare real estate for Jefferson Parish and the New Orleans metro area. The facility, set to officially open on July 28, 2026, replaces the older St. Anthony’s Community Care Center, adding approximately 120 private rooms and expecting to employ more than 120 staff at full occupancy.

The new center will operate under CommCare Corporation, a private nonprofit organization, with Amy Sprout named as the facility administrator. Jim Tucker, the president and CEO of CommCare Management Corporation, has confirmed that the building is organized into four households, each offering private rooms to residents.

This development is recognized as a major private-sector investment, contributing to the local economy by creating jobs and enhancing healthcare facilities. With the facility’s completion, it strengthens the skilled nursing and rehabilitation market, impacting both the real estate and healthcare sectors across the region.

The official opening is anticipated to draw attention to how this addition could alter post-acute care dynamics, including referral patterns from nearby hospitals and overall market capacity in Jefferson Parish. Full staffing and occupancy are expected to be achieved by the end of 2026.

This project highlights the ongoing reinvestment into Jefferson Parish’s healthcare capacity, ensuring modernized facilities replace older ones like St. Anthony’s. It’s a critical upgrade indicating confidence in the local healthcare infrastructure and providing necessary care services to the community.
