The Urban Land Institute’s (ULI) Louisiana chapter is hosting an exclusive first look at the rebranded Ambassador Hotel into the  new Old No. 77 Hotel & Chandlery on Tchoupitoulas Street.  The hotel just underwent a $14 million renovation.

The new owners – GB Lodging LLC and Provenance Hotels – bought the hotel at Tchoupitoulas and Lafayette streets in 2013 from hotelier Warren Reuther.  The property underwent a full renovation, including an expansion to 167 rooms.

The now 167 room hotel highlights the property’s past history as a coffee and tobacco warehouse in the 1800’s.  The design of the hotel combines artful style and contemporary amenities such as Wi-Fi, fitness center, concierge services, in-room dining options, a destination restaurant & bar and a pet-friendly environment.

Attendees  at the ULI event will be able to hear from the hotel’s owners and will not only be able to discuss the structure of the re-brand, but also take a tour of the property, which will culminate in a small cocktail gathering.

The ULI has put on some amazing real estate programs and first look property tours, including the recently completed Gallier Court, a conference on real estate in New Orleans, and a $50,000 urban planning competition.

You can sign up for the tour here.
