The Domain Companies, developer of the South Market District, has filed a Design Review request with the city for the demolition of a building to make way for its Morris Adjmi-designed condo building, The Standard.

The Standard will be a 15-story building with 89 condos and 24,000 square feet of retail space along Rampart and Julia streets and O’Keefe Avenue.   New York-based Morris Adjmi is the designer and and architect for the project.  The building will also include a 30,000 square foot “amenity deck” with a pool, poolside cabanas, outdoor kitchen, fitness areas, a full-time concierge, and resident clubhouse.

The design review request was filed by Christian Brierre, a Domain development associate in charge of real estate development and acquisitions for Domain Co.’s.  The request asks for the demolition of the two story building at 726 S. Rampart Street to make way for the new development.

Woodward Design+Buildis the general contractor.  The Standard will be the fourth in the South Market District.  The Park, the Paramount, and the Beacon make up the other three South Market District buildings.
