Plans were filed this week to renovate an historic building at 801 Magazine Street, across from Pecshe.

The building permit describes the work as renovating, connection, and constructing additions to two existing buildings at 801 Magazine and 516 Julia Street.  13 apartments are planned for the second and third floors, with commercial going in on the ground floor.  Its a beautiful building that sits at the corner of Magazine and Julia Streets.

The property is the former home of New Orleans Auction Galleries.  The existing structures contain approximately 24,000 square feet and 20,550 square feet.

The property is owned by 801 Magazine, LLC, which lists Winingder Enterprises, LLC as its sole member.  They purchased the property for an undisclosed amount in 2016.  Hayden Wren of Corporate Realty was the listing agent.

Studio WTA is the architect.
