Regions Bank is planning to build a new branch at the corner of Jeffreson Avenue and Tchoupitoulas Street.

The new bank will replace the Roly Poly restaurant, which will be torn down and demolished.  The demolition request filed on February 25, 2014 is currently pending before the city.  Demolition is expected to begin in April.

The developer, Butler Callahan Holdings, purchased the property in 2011 for $858,090 according to city records.

Butler Callahan Holdings is also the developer of the nearby redevelopment of the 5700 block of Magazine where Rare Cuts, Vom Fass and Parcels and Post are currently located.  Plans call for renovating the three buildings, aligning the corner building with the other two and joining them all together.  According to Uptown Messenger, the tenant mix is expected to include a major tenant from New York City, retail, and a restaurant with outdoor seating.
