The New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center has launched NOLAHQHotel.com, a dedicated site to provide updates on the development of the Omni HQ Hotel project. This initiative marks a significant step as the city gears up for the construction of the 1,000-room hotel, slated to begin in late 2026 and expected to open in 2030.

The website aims to centralize information and facilitate public engagement about the Omni New Orleans project. Located adjacent to the Convention Center on Convention Center Boulevard, this development is seen as crucial for enhancing New Orleans’ competitiveness in the convention and hospitality sectors.

Omni Hotels & Resorts, the project developer and operator, in partnership with the Convention Center, anticipates the hotel will generate an annual economic impact of $213.6 million and create 1,400 permanent jobs. These figures underscore the project’s importance to the local economy and its potential to boost job creation.

While the exact timeline for permits and groundbreaking remains unconfirmed, the launch of the website provides a single resource for tracking approvals and updates. The Convention Center’s role as a public sponsor and landowner emphasizes the collaborative effort involved in bringing this substantial project to fruition.

As plans progress, the Omni HQ Hotel is expected to play a pivotal role in major event bids, including for the 2031 Super Bowl. Its addition to the city’s hotel supply will likely influence room pricing, group bookings, and the overall development pipeline in downtown New Orleans.
