The building at 2025 St. Charles Avenue, vacant for years, has a new grocery store coming soon.

The building was most recently in use as Crescent City Billiards Lounge, which apparently went out of business several years back.  Theresa Yu Song, a westbank resident, bought the building in 2007 for $700,000.

The grocery store’s entrepreneur is Nader Kader, a resident of Gretna.  No notice of lease has been recorded in the public records.

Plans call for a 4,200 square foot grocery store, complete with walk-in cigar humidor, coffee shop, and “beer cave.”

The store will have to compete with the new flagship Jack & Jake’s grocery store opening just a few blocks away.
