The Pontchartrain Housing Corp., a non-profit manager of affordable housing the Archdiocese of New Orleans, is building its new 37,000-square-foot corporate office building on a vacant parcel of land at 3900 Howard Ave. The site used to house a warehouse, but those improvements were demolished in 2012.
Pontchartrain Housing Corp. purchased the property for $1.198 million from Whitney National Bank in 2010.
Donahue-Favret Contractors of Mandeville is the general contractor and Blitch Knevel Architects of New Orleans is the architect. Federal Emergency Management Agency is funding the majority of construction.
