Second Line Studios, the Lower Garden District movie facility, has plans to expand to an adjacent parcel.
According to a letter sent to neighbors, Second Line is seeking to build a new two-story building on a vacant lot at 836 Market Street, across from its existing four story facility.
The new building will have 36,000 square feet of office and back of house space for its sound stages, plus additional parking.
Second Line needs a zoning change to make it happen, from HU-RD2 Two-Family Residential District, where an office use is not allowed, to MU-2 High Intensity Mixed-Use zoning, which allows sound stages, offices, and other uses.
The design team is listed as Georgia-based Atlas Collaborative.
