The new Alder Hotel opened this week uptown after a $15 million renovation. The hotel is the site of the former 10 story Bristow Tower, which opened in 1964 as part of the Baptist Hospital complex.
Developers Chris Bellone, Greg Ensslen of Go Mango Neighborhood Restoration, Michael Valentino of Valentino New Orleans Hotels, and Woodward Interests are behind the 90 room project at 4545 Magnolia Street. They entered in to a long term lease with Ochsner Baptist for the property.
While the hotel will serve any guests uptown, there will be a particular focus on lodging for families with patients at Ochsner Baptist.
The developers broke ground in 2016. Woodward Design + Build is the general contractor, Woodward’s Lisa Quarls is the architect, and Valentino’s New Orleans Hotels will operate the hotel.
