833 HowardAccording to Orleans Parish records, the Warehouse District building at 833 Howard Avenue, also known as the Triangle Building, was sold on December 3.

While the purchase price is unknown, the it had been on the market for years at $2 million.

The purchaser is Wedge Enterprises, LLC, an entity controlled by accountant William R. Legier.  According to the designs below, Legier plans to turn the building into multifamily apartments and/or condos.

Built in 1920, the Howard Triangle Building, formerly the Howard Southern Triangle Building, is a seven story former office building is well known to native New Orleanians because of its unique geometric design.

The building has approximately 16,500 square feet of gross building area. It is constructed upon a land footprint of approximately 2,350 square feet.  Additionally, there is an adjacent surface parking lot of 4,500 square feet which lends itself for development to the prospective purchaser.

The building’ s namesake innocently evolved, simply because it was constructed upon a triangularly shaped lot resulting from the convergence of three major streets in the New Orleans Central Business District, Baronne Street, St. Joseph Street and Howard Avenue.

The building is located in the New Orleans Central Business District at 833 Howard Avenue.
