Led by developer Lisa Blank, Slumber Corners NOLA LLC, has plans to turn the vacant Rault Center tower at 1111 Gravier St. into a boutique hotel with the Joie de Vivre flag.

The hotel will feature 185 keys, a restaurant and lounge on the ground floor, a second-floor lobby and a rooftop space.

Blank purchased the building for $5.5 million in February 2015.

The Rault Center is the same building where several died in 1972 when a deadly fire tore through the building. Several others jumped to their deaths from the 15th floor.  It was caught on film, which you can view here.

The new plans filed with the city call for the installation of new exterior metal panel walls, windows, and roof, along with the construction of a 17th floor roof top addition.

John Campo with Campo Architects is the Architect of Record, and Landis Construction is the general contractor.
