A $5 million “green hotel” in Central City is being proposed by a New Orleans developer, according to Nola.com.

The New Orleans Green Hotel is designed to target millennials conscious of the environment.  The site, 1500 Robert C. Blakes Sr. Drive, is currently a vacant warehouse.

Gerard Bourgeois Jr., is one of the developers on the project.  Plans call for a four-story, 42-room hotel with solar panels, water efficient laundry facilities, energy efficient aspects, and environmentally friendly paint.

The developers will need a conditional use to construct the hotel.
