On Tuesday, the New Orleans City Planning Commission approved a zoning change for the development. Proposed plans call for the conversion of two properties on Gravier and South Miro streets into a general commercial district from a two-family residential district.
The two buildings in question, 2215 Gravier Street and 528 South Miro Street, would be turned into parking lots, according to a preliminary report written by City Planning staff. The site calls for 31 parking spaces and a drive-thru teller with three lanes exiting onto South Galvez Street.
CPC staff recommended approval for the project since it fits in with the city’s Master Plan. The credit union will take up the first floor of the building at 2200 Tulane Avenue with other tenant office space above.
Labarre Architects is the architect of record and SRSA Commercial Real Estate is the landlord’s broker. The building has 8,875 square feet and is asking $22/square foot.
