The Southern Food & Beverage Museum’s new digs are gorgeous and are opening today!

The Southern Food and Beverage Museum will cut the ribbon on its new home at 1504 O.C. Haley Blvd. today (Monday, Sept. 29), at 1 p.m., a free event that is open to the public.

The events to celebrate will include a lecture, wonderful Culinary master classes with Jeremiah Tower, the California Cuisine pioneer. Just a block away at 1604 O.C Haley will be the SOFAB Culinary Library and archives. The collection includes archives, historic document, there will be over thousands of cookbooks.

The large building is going to have exhibits like Leah Chase Louisiana and La Galerie D’Absinthe.  The entire building is a total of 30,000 square foot.

The renovations were estimated at a total cost of $3.5 million.

There has been a ton of activity on O.C. Haley lately, with high-growth food startup Dinner Lab opening its headquarters at 1029 O.C. Haley,  Jack & Jake’s opening soon, Adolfo Garcia building a new restaurant, and the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra spending $8 million to build their new headquarters.
