2606 St. Louis StreetA vacant and abandoned old industrial laundry facility on the Lafitte Greenway is scheduled to be converted into a brewery, tap room, restaurant and offices by Green Coast Enterprises and other developers.

GCE Green Development LLC, which includes Green Coast and developer Ramsey Green and the environmentally has the building at 2606 St. Louis under contract.

If the deal goes through, the primary tenant of the 32,000 square foot building would be Urban South Brewery, a startup brewery led by entrepreneur Jacob Landry.  The site would also feature a restaurant (no operator yet), and office space or apartments.

The building, which sits right alongside the Lafitte Greenway, was a laundry and uniform facility since the 1940s.

Green Coast Enterprises sent out a letter to neighbors earlier this month inviting them to attend a meeting to hear the developer’s plans, which were revealed yesterday.
