Amazon will build a new fulfillment center at the corner of Old Spanish Trail and Town Center Parkway in Slidell. The project will create 400 new jobs.
According to a report in the Slidell Independent, a land clearing permit was approved by Slidell and construction will start immediately, with completion of the facility by the end of the year.
The Slidell fulfillment center will employ up to 400 workers with pay up to $20 per hour with full benefits.
According to the report, St. Tammany officials have been visiting with Amazon for months
Amazon has 110 fulfillment centers in the U.S., with 185 globally.
