New Orleans City Hall has announced the group that will evaluate and rank proposals to redevelop the World Trade Center.

The panel of five is made up of:

  • Cindy Connick, executive director of the Canal Street Development Corporation

  • Andy Kopplin, the city’s CAO

  • Bill Gilchrist, the Mayor’s director of “place-based planning”

  • Bob Rivers, executive director of the City Planning Commission

  • Ashleigh Gardere, the leader the Network for Economic Opportunity

Connick, Kopplin and Gilchrist were all on the last selection committee that picked Gatehouse Capital as the winner. That deal unraveled in April after the parties couldn’t agree to terms.

This new committee will be working on evaluating the 11 new proposals that just came in weeks ago, starting with a meeting December 15 and leading up to a meeting on March 23 to select a winner.
