French Truck has officially opened in May & Ellis, located at 221 Chartres Street, a move founder Geoffrey Meeker has been planning since 2016. This is the first downtown location for the coffee company, well-situated for pedestrian traffic from surrounding areas such as the CBD and other parts of the French Quarter.
May & Ellis is a newly completed luxury apartment building with residences that include studios, one-bedrooms, two-bedrooms, and a three-bedroom penthouse unit.
“We are thrilled to welcome French Truck Coffee to May & Ellis. French Truck’s attention to detail and focus on quality mirrors our own guiding principles as we developed the premier mixed-use residential building in the French Quarter.” state Clayton Randle and David Hecht with Abri Design + Development. “They are an incredible amenity for the building’s residents and the neighborhood as a whole.”
In addition to the usual lineup of coffee and espresso drinks, French Truck has pastries from Gracious Bakery. The location has 40 seats and is also offering a discount to service industry workers in uniform.
