New Mixed-Use Project Coming to Tchoupitoulas Uptown

New plans filed with the City by architect Daniel Zangara show a proposed mixed-use facility 3969 Tchoupitoulas Street that will feature a new veterinary clinic as the anchor.

According to materials submitted to the City, the proposal includes the vet clinic, a separate boarding facility, a second floor residential development and additional business use. The first floor veterinary clinic will include exam rooms, animal treatment and surgery facilities, a pharmacy, and staff facilities. The boarding facility will include animal boarding areas, a grooming facility, laundry, and outdoor play. There are six apartments on the second floor with a separate entrance on the Austerlitz and Tchoupitoulas corner. There are new proposed off street parking spaces as well as a drop off valet area for clients.

The building will be just over 20,000 square feet.The design looks very well done and should be a great addition to the Tchoupitoulas corridor. Zangara is known for his high-end, forward thinking design.

The owners are the Gernon family, who own and operate Magazine Animal Clinic at 3458 Magazine Street.
