A few weeks back, International Shipholding Corp., which owns and operates a global fleet of waterborne cargo vessels, announced that they were relocating their corporate headquarters from Mobile, Ala., back to New Orleans.
At the time, the company said that they had a warehouse district property under contract which would eventually be its new headquarters.
We asked whether it was the Ives Office Building or 864 S. Peters Street, and it turns out, it was indeed 864 S. Peters Street!
Yesterday the company announced that it had closed on the building at the price of $3.5 million.
The property is 17,600 square feet that dates to 1885, along with a 14,000 square foot parking lot for 50 cars.
The property is zoned CBD-8, a designation that allows a variety of business uses.
Mi Mi Montagnet of M2 Brokerage represented the seller, 870 LLC, controlled by John J. Cummings III and Donna Cummings.
Bobby Talbot of Talbot Realty Group represented ISH in the transaction.
