Joe Jaeger, the New Orleans hotelier, investor and real estate developer, has purchased the Whitney Wyndham Hotel at 610 Poydras St. for $10.5 million.

The Whitney Wyndham Hotel is an eight-story, 93-room hotel, owned by a partnership controlled by Metairie business owner Robert Weinmann and Wood Design + Build chief executive Paul Flower.

The partnership bought the building in 1999 from Whitney National Bank for $2.5 million and renovated the building into the hotel.

Jaeger owns or has interests in a slew of other hotels downtown, including the Bourbon Orleans Hotel, the Dauphine Orleans, Hotel Mazarin, Hotel Le Marais, the Wyndham Riverfront Hotel, and the Crowne Plaza New Orleans.

Jaeger is also the owner of mechanical contractor MCC Group and has developed many other properties, including the NOCCA Forum Project.
