Morris Adjmi, founder of the New York-based Morris Adjmi Architects (MA), has opened a second office in New Orleans. The new office is located at 1029 Jackson Avenue and currently employs a staff of six.
Adjmi is originally from New Orleans, went to Tulane University, and is the architect behind the $80 million luxury condo building, The Standard.
Adjmi established MA in 1997 following a 13-year collaboration with Pritzker Prize-winning architect Aldo Rossi. The office has grown to a staff of more than 100, and the firm has completed over 5 million square feet of built space, with another 10 million square feet currently underway in Atlanta, Baltimore, Boston, Chicago, Detroit, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Philadelphia, Tampa, and Washington, DC. The firm has won more than 25 design awards for its work.
MA is known for contemporary design in historic neighborhoods. The New Orleans office will focus on work outside of New York.
