Tiffany & Co., the world’s second largest luxury jewelry retailer, opened its first New Orleans jewelry store at the Shops at Canal Place on Wednesday.
The 3,900-square-foot store includes bridal, fine and fashion jewelry sections. The new store, in space formerly occupied by Mignon Faget, employs 21 people. Jeweler Mignon Faget moved into a new store in Canal Place just a few doors down.
Donahue-Favret Contractors of Mandeville were was the general contractor for the $2 million renovation.
The store is the company’s 94th in the United States.
Canal Place is a part of the 32-story, 440 feet tall skyscraper known as One Canal Place, located at 365 Canal Street.
The lower 3 levels of the One Canal Place are occupied by The Shops at Canal Place, one of two shopping malls in downtown New Orleans and the only 5-star mall in the gulf south. The mall contains a Saks Fifth Avenue, The Theatres at Canal Place, food court and approximately 45 high-end retailers including Anthropologie, Brooks Brothers, Michael Kors, Tiffany & Co,and Morton’s The Steakhouse.
