Last year news broke that the Ruby Slipper would be expanding with a new location on Broad Street at the site of the only Carpenter’s Union building.
In addition to a new Ruby Slipper restaurant, the site will feature the offices and headquarters for the entire corporation, along with a commissary kitchen. Earlier this month, RSC Mid City, LLC, the company owned by the Weishaupts used to purchase the real estate, filed design review plans with the city for their new project.
Plans call for a complete renovation of the 10,000-square-foot location at 315 S. Broad. The site will feature 125 seats, a separate area for private events, wraparound balcony, corporate offices, outdoor kitchen, kids playground, and commissary kitchen. The location is very close to Project Refresh, the new Broad Theater, and the Lafitte Greenway.
315 South Broad Street sits on a 41,707 square foot lot and includes the 10,000 square foot, two story building. According to a listing on Loopnet, the building was built in 1950.
Payne & Mason is the architect.
