Founder of the group effort to change the most Eastern part of New Orleans, Frank Mials Scurlock, has a master plan. He is the President and Director of the Scurlock Development Group and, newly, Founder of Transformation Village, LLC.
Transformation Village is creator of the seven-phase plan proposed for the predominantly abandoned stretch of land off Interstate 10. The project will extend from mile marker 247 at Interstate 510 to mile marker 254.
“This seven mile stretch includes the three Interstate exits waiting for development and our team is up to the task,” says Scurlock.
Scurlock would begin the redevelopment with Jazzland, also known as Six Flags Park, and continue with an Atlantis hotel, resort and waterpark, a technology park, a world shopping center with stores representing the seven continents, a Sportsplex and more.
Scurlock’s Six Flags Redevelopment RFP (request for proposal) is scheduled to go before the Review Committee of the Industrial Development Board of the City of New Orleans, LA, Inc. tomorrow, Tuesday, April 1, 2014, at 1:00 PM in the 21st Floor Conference Room at Orleans Tower, 1340 Poydras. The Committee will be reviewing the proposal and will further review supplemental data submitted by The Jazzland Theme Park.

What are the chances this will ever happen?
seems like a april fools joke?
I wish an IKEA, Dave & Buster’s, and a full-line Nordstrom department store would find a home in New Orleans!!! Jazz Land and/or Six Flags would be awesome also!!!
